click the print screen button on your keyboard

then click paste like in microsoft paint.

or you could use a snipping tool that comes standard on vista/windows 7.

You hit the print screen button on your keyboard. Might be called "Prt Scrn". Then open any image editing software (photoshop, paint, gimp etc) and paste. (You can paste by hitting ctrl + v, or going to file -> paste). Thats it.

easy one, Smile

Press the Print Screen key, located next to the scroll lock key, or the F12 key in the upper right hand corner of your keyboard.

then open up your "Paint" program and press "CTRL" and "V" at the same time and your screen shot will appear.

Or you can right click and choose PASTE and it will appear.

?Hope this helps. Smile

It's pretty easy.

1. Press the Print Screen key on your computer keyboard.
2. Open MS Paint program (Or any other image editor).
3. Click "Edit" and "Paste" to paste the image into the MS Paint program editor.
4. Edit it however you wish, print it, or save it.

*** There's a detailed article with screen shots showing you step by step how, if you need help. It's at http://hubpages.com/t/13e029. I hope this helps.

The PrtSc key will copy the entire screen to the clipboard. Then just paste into a graphics editor, like Paint.

Alt-PrtSc (Hold the Alt key, then press PrtSc) will just copy the active window.

One caveat. This copies what the computer thinks is on the screen. For what you describe this is fine. But if you are trying to capture some odd effect on your monitor (lines in the image etc.) then it will not work. In those cases you just have to get out a camera and take a picture.
