PLEASE HELP! Summer BEFORE COLLEGE: Just moved to new house, SO DEPRESSED please answer!!?
So i'm starting college in California this fall.
My parents also decided to move to California, an area near to my college.
They bought a new house here and made me move out here with them at the beginning of the summer.

Now, i live in this area and i know no one, have no idea what's there to around here, and college hasn't started yet. i'm stuck inside the house with my parents all the time & they're not adventurous, so we're constantly inside the house not doing anything.

i am upset and depressed because i don't go out and i dont have friends here. it makes me more upset to go on facebook and see what all my friends r up to.

This is the summer after high school, what i thought should be the BEST summer but now i'm stuck here with no friends, almost like my strict parents planned this. they made me leave my home on the east coast (even though i have no reason to be in california this summer, there's nothing here for me) at a time when i was had just built up good friendships and relationships.

i keep asking my mom to let me fly home for 2 weeks in august, but she won't let me. i'm terribly homesick (about 1.25 months now) and it doesnt let up easily. and my parents don't sympathize. it was totally their decision to move out here, without consulting me, so now on college breaks, i don't get to go home to the east coast, i'm stuck out here without my old hs friends.

what do i do? should i keep pushing for going home? i'm trying to meet up with freshmen in the area, but it's tough..

also, i don't have a car & my parents dont let me drive despite having my license.

also, nothing in walking distance & my parents dont like to drive me places..

-well you didnt say what part of Cali because im from Cali and depending on where you live depends on what is the best thing to do . obviously if you're by the beach you can walk around
- make a Twitter and type in your college with that hashtag (ex: #UCLA). they will see it and ask them where is the best places to meet people or you can simply meet people via twitter. (ex. "Hey, where is all the #UCLA freshman at?" tell them that you just moved there and looking for something to do etc etc ) i feel like Twitter is the best way to meet people especially in a new college . thats what i did & no lie i know almost half the school & im only a upcoming sopho.
