is it illegal to post pictures of minors on facebook without parental consent?
my mother in law, whom we have no contact with for very good reasons, has found a way to copy pictures of our 18 month old son and posted them on her facebook account. My privacy settings are tight, and I check them regularly. She got them by hacking into my teenage brother in laws facebook and going to my profile that way. Is there anything we can do?

I would let it go. Why escalate a war? Are you not proud of your son?
But to answer directly, if you took the pictures, then you own the defacto copyright to them, no matter who is in them. (Without model releases, someone in the pictuer could stop you from posting, but you can certianly stop everyone else from posting). You could go to Facebook directly, or if they are unresponsive, retain a lawyer. But again, it would seem totally pointless. Ads |
