Why are they taking senior pictures?
I'm a soon to be sophomore in high school. I have friend that will be seniors this fall, but on their facebook, they posted professional pictures of themselves taken by their friends, family, etc. in the beautiful woods, and great scenery and as well professional picture taking places.

I'm wondering, doesn't the school have to take your senior pictures for you? Why are they taking professional pictures of themselves before school even started?

I'm confused, why do you need a bunch of senior pictures of yourself?

Well yea the school has to do it, and they do get professionals to do it. But if you dont like them, i guess you have the choice of taking them with someone else.

And its because its your last year of school.

A lot of the things that go on happen simply because it's "tradition." Taking school photos, especially fancy senior-year photos, is quite traditional in the U.S. We have some photos like that dating from the 1940s of relatives.

It's actually a good thing to do, because in your senior year (if you are a woman), you are at a point in your life when you look particularly lovely (even though most teenaged girls don't think they look pretty), and it's good to document your beauty with nice photos. When you are older, you will enjoy having them; as will your family and your descendants. Children and grandchildren are often particularly fascinated by your photos when you were young and close to their age.
