Yahoo pulse shows activity of people I don't know on the home page?
And suggests connections of people that I don't know. Why is that? Where is it getting these ideas?
The problem is that I'm getting updates from people that I did not request updates from. I have no idea who these people are or why I'm getting the updates. I can't remove them and stop getting their frigging updates.

Yahoo! Pulse, previously Yahoo!
Profiles, is a service offered by Yahoo!that allows you to link popular social network websites such as Facebook and Twitter with your Yahoo! account. Using the Yahoo! Pulse dashboard you can update your Facebook status, post a Tweet to your Twitter account or connect with other friends that are also using Yahoo!Pulse. If you've created a Yahoo!Pulse account but don't like it, you can disable it. Although Yahoo! does not allow you to delete your Yahoo! Pulse account, you can hide yourprofile, effectively removing the ability
for anyone to contact you through
Yahoo! Pulse.

1. Launch a Web browser and visit
pulse.yahoo.com.

2. Click the "Sign In" link in the
upper-left corner of the Web page.
Enter your Yahoo! ID and password into the appropriate fields and click the "Sign In"button.

3. Click the "Settings" link in the
upper-right corner of the Web
page to access the Yahoo! Pulse
settings.

4. Click on the "Manage privacy
settings" option beneath the
"Privacy" section on the page. A
pop-up window will appear.

5. Place a check mark next to the
"Hide my profile" option and click
"Save" at the bottom of the pop-
up window.

We can't get rid of it, but you can make it private.
On My Activity click Edit My Preferences. Click Privacy and Communication. Scroll down and click Don't share my updates. Click Submit. Also on the mail screen click Options. Then at the top of the list uncheck Enable updates, upper left click Save Changes.
You can also click the View Profile icon and hide your profile, but then your avatar won't show on Q&A
You can also click this link http://pulse.yahoo.com/y/settings/email_… and set invites to "No".
