Why did his female friend try to add me on facebook?

There is this guy I was dating for awhile but we broke up and decided to stay good friends. We keep in touch by talking on the phone, hanging out, etc. He always comments on my pics and facebook wall and vice versa. But I think this girl he told me about is interested in him and he doesn't want her. I don't see how I could be a threat when I'm not even his girlfriend.
