What titles will Kate Middleton get when she's married?
me and someone else i know on Facebook are wondering...

What titles will Kate Middleton get when she's married?

Will she automatically get the title 'Princess of Wales', or what titles will the Queen most likely give her?

No she wont automatically get the Princess of Wales because that title is already in use; Camilla, the wife of the Prince of Wales, Charles, can use that title, although she chooses not to due to its associations with Diana.

We don't no what title Kate will use because the Queen hasn't yet given her and William a title to use. Currently the only one she can use (as of this precise moment in time) is Princess William Wales NO OF, because William is not the Prince of Wales, he is just William Wales, (as in John Smith).

As of now they will be HRH,The Prince and Princess William of Wales.William may be given a royal dukedom as a wedding gift;if so they couple will add that to their honorifics and be known as HRH,The Duke and Duchess of ---,being both prince/princess and duke/duchess.
Catherine can be properly called HRH Catherine of Wales or HRH the Duchess of---.She is not a born royal, therefore cannot be properly called "Princess Catherine."

They are NOT the Prince and Princess of Wales. That is the title of Charles;only the next male monarch bears the title Prince of Wales;only the wife of the Prince of Wales is Princess of Wales.
William is the heir of the next king of the UK and so bears his father's title,i.e. Prince William OF Wales.William won't be invested Prince of Wales until his father is king.

EDIT: The couple have been made HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge,Earl and Countess of Strathearn,Baron and BaronessCarrickfergus.

Unless a new title is granted to William then she'll be Princess William of Wales, in the same way the wife of the Queen's cousin is Princess Michael of Kent.

Chances are though that the Queen will grant William a dukedom for his wedding, as she did with his uncle Andrew for his wedding. In which case Kate will be known as Duchess of wherever.

Immediately upon marriage: HRH Princess William of Wales (as spouse of HM's grandson).

If William is given a title, Kate takes the 'Mrs' form of the title: Duke (Duchess), Marquess (Marchioness), etc.

Upon Charles' accession, Willam and Kate will be known as TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall. Once the Wales titles are regranted, they will be known as TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales.

**The style and title of HRH The Princess of Wales is reserved for the spouse of the Prince of Wales. The current Princess of Wales is Camilla (legally, she is The Princess of Wales, even though she's officially known as HRH The Duchess of Cornwall).

It has been announced: she does not earn the title of princess because she was not a princess, Diana was princess. The couple have been afforded the title of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, by the Queen, named after the city.
