How can I get more twitter followers?

Hello, I'm using my cousins account to ask this question haha. My twitter is @kristinparagian and I only have about 920 followers. Give or take a few. This one time about a year ago, I was just joking around with my friend, and she has a lot of Japanese people following her. So I followed them all, and after that I got soo many followers. I got like 50 everyday ! I followed them all back. But now that doesn't happen anymore. I get like 1 follower every week :/ I'd like to get more followers, but I don't really know how. I Read a lot of websites that have steps on how to get more, but it doesn't really help. Please give YOUR own advice on how you think I could get more followers thanks you ! (:

Why do you want people that you know nothing about following the meaningless comments you make on Twitter? You need an ego check.

Follow people who follow back
RT loads of people who say "rt for a shoutout"
Do your own shoutouts
Tweet interesting/funny things
Try and tweet regularly
Tweet about the trends
Put in your bio that you follow back, and follow everyone back
Do not have your icon as an egg! You must change it to yourself, people hardly ever follow eggs!

I was once in the same situation as you. I seemed to be getting followers, then it just stopped altogether. Then I started research the topic on how to get followers, and I got lots of different Ideas. The simple ones are changing hashtag to #teamfollowback on your bio. Another Idea that works all the time, is to simply search #teamfollowback and follow a bunch of the people that come up. You are guaranteed to get a bunch that way. Then you can use manageflitter to remove the people you follow fast. (instead of unfollowing one after another) Simply rinse and repeat! You can also check out AddMeFast and Twiends

However, there is also a lazy man's way of doing it. It's called FollowrPro. Basically, its a website that has a huge database of twitter accounts (mostly actives ones) that follow you when you submit an offer.
