I tried searching this up but non of the results help me, because half say it's a rumor and the other half say it's true. Did facebook release an official statement about this?

It was a rumor created the 7 or 8 of January (1 or 2 days ago) by mixing two different news: the closing of Yahoo Video, which is on March 15th, and an opinion article in the CNN.
