1) Can become a source of bullying.
2) Can be a huge distraction to school kids and adults when doing work on the computer they may constantly feel the need to check the social website.
3) You can get into trouble with police and school for expressing certain views on a website e.g. Racist comments.
4) Its easier to vent frustration when typing so arguments and dissagreements may get out of hand, with hurtful or threatening comments that the individual wouldn't normally say in a face to face conflict.
5) Can attract stalkers creating bogus accounts and adding you as a friend and then viewing all your personal pictures & information, or repeatedly messaging you from different accounts each time you block them.
6) Identity fraud can occur, if someone knows your personal information or is a friend they can steal your photos and create another account pretending to be you.
7) Photos may be obtained and used against you, e.g. A picture of a teenager smoking at a party could be shown to a parent.
8) Can attract paedophiles who target an specific age group of girls/boys from a specific school or area and "groom" them online. Pictures of girls on holiday in bikinis or photos of young children could be viewed and downloaded by paedophiles.

Social networking usually requires you to input your name, location, age, gender and many other types of personal information.
* Scams and harassment
Being online you are at risk to face cases of harassment, cyber-stalking, online scams and identity theft.

sometimes the social networking sites gets you addicted. This will result in a lot of time wastage
* there is always an element of risk of being defrauded by strangers.
* social networking online can actually harm social skills
* It is big and it is powerful, but it is not controllable by the marketer
* Shady marketers have created fake profiles of “fans” on social networking sites like MySpace in order to promote their products
* Scams, rumors and frauds spread easily
* You can lose privacy.
* You could be a victim of cyber-stalkin
* If personal information is given out then there is high risk that they may be misused

You don't know who you are really communicating with because anyone can be what they want to be.

95% of it is all lies and exaggeration!

Billions of man hours and money, both in companies and schools are wasted every year.

Seeing that FB, Google and Twitter are all interlinked there is no such thing as Privacy.

Not that there has been from the day you first used the internet because everything you do and write is recorded somewhere and can be dug up with little trouble!

All users have done is pour money into the back pockets, like water out of a hydrant, of the likes of the CEOs of FB, Google and all the rest of them, yet they can't see it!
