How to alter my Facebook page like this?

Hey, I am 17 and so I have a lot of pictures and statuses online that would be a bit awkward if certain people saw them. For instance, me kissing a fairly random guy/hanging out with smokers etc.
I want my brother amongst others to not be able to see certain wall posts/statuses/pics. Is this possible? Also, if so, then will they be able to clearly see that I have blocked it from just them?

Go to account, "Edit Friends", "Create a List",add these certain people to that list, then go to "Account", "Privacy Settings", and whatever part of your profile you want to hide from this above-mentioned group, select the customize part of the setting and select "Hide from" and select this group.
