Whyyy doooo peopleeee typeee likeeee thisss? =)?
You see it, it's on Facebook, it's on Myspace, it's on Twitter, its on AIM. Why do people type so ridiculously?
This annoying style of people (mostly) girls typing the last letter of every word they type at least 20 times if not more. Don't forget that creepy equal sign parenthesis smiley face to to off the sentence. This is just one of those things in life I can't fathom. 2 answers to 2 answers: 1) To the person who asked me "IDK what you mean?" I mean the way people type on social networking sites. "Forrrrr exampleee likeee thisssss" (Notice the stressed last letter) 2) I know what the smiley faces mean and all those emoticons, I just don't know why people think they need to add one after EVERY sentence. cuz they dont actually know how to spell it
dont know how many of the letter is in the word (ex.This,thiiiss,thiss...etc) They think its cool they are young and will eventually think it was extremely stupid of their part to drag on letters for a while.. Make sence? Ads |

People make the smiley face because they a lot of times want to show everyone what they're thinking. There's also things like T-T for crying, XD for laughing, O_o for confused and many more. I do that sometimes...
As for the repeating the last letter, I'm not really sure. I think it's because they think it's cool or something. If someone thinks something is cool, they like to do it no matter how......unique it is. Also, that might mean that they're moaning or talking slow or something. I hope this helps. |

Things like =)......=D are emoticons. They show the feelings of the person who is typing. And things like thiiiiissss...thissss...and thhhhiiisss i guess young people really do this nowadays. It's not only because they do not know how to spell it, they just think it's cool...

Technology breeds both illiteracy and stupidity. 20 years ago, you'd never see bad spelling, grammar, etc.in any media since most people had to manually type, write, and check their work, and manually doing this kind of stuff by hand would take more time and make you look more ridiculous to boot.
Today, major media outlets, magazines, websites, games, etc. are full of bad spelling, grammar, and word use, along with idiotic stuff like you've described. I was reading a major magazine yesterday, and noted a dozen errors on one page alone in a single article. As it becomes easier and faster to type and process, people become lazier, and as more and more people see others being as lazy, they themselves decide "Why not". It's easy to hold a keyboard key down to type out a single letter in a couple of seconds or less. No one would ever consider doing it with a pen or pencil, or a manual typewriter. It's important to note also that not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier are burning when you see this stuff - the Internet has shown just how much I & S there really is in the world. We've just been happily unaware of it for many years, or at least those my age. Though I've made my career out of technological advances for many years, this is one aspect of advances I could do without, as well as the rest of the human race. It's bad enough when people do it by mistake, but really irritating as you've said when it's done intentionally. I view such individuals as Darwin Award candidates. Maybe they'll win or be runner-ups. |

Some even use faux telegraph abbreviations.
= As if they are paying per word/letter sent. |
