No, it won't notify your brother that he has been removed.
It depends on your profile privacy settings whether or not he can still see your posts on your wall, but they will not apper in his feed.

To answer your questions no. When he goes to your page it would say Add as a Friend then he would or would not figure out you deleted him based on his intelligence.

no, he would not be notified. only way he would find out is if he looked on his friends list and you werent there.
he could syill read your posts if your profile is set to public, but just change all of your preferences and he wont be able to. been there done that
