Kara Alongi Found Safe: Missing NJ teen who tweeted someone was in her house returns home

(CBS/AP) CLARK, N.J. - The missing New Jersey teenager who tweeted that someone was in her house has been found and reunited with her family.

Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb says state troopers spotted 16-year-old Kara Alongi walking along the New Jersey Turnpike in Carneys Point Tuesday. He says detectives are trying to determine the girl's whereabouts over the past two days.

Alongi was last seen Sunday when she decided to skip her brother's hockey game and lie down with a headache, her mother, Kim Alongi, told The Star-Ledger.

That evening she posted the message, "There is somone in my hour ecall (sic) 911" on Twitter, then allegedly called a cab to a nearby train station and bought a ticket to New York City.

People re-tweeted the message and created the hashtag "#helpfindkara," but police now say the tweet was a hoax.
