how to limit what certain friends can see on facebook?

on facebook, I'm friends with my mom (one of the requirements for me to have an account). I'm also friends with my boyfriend on facebook and I want to know how I can change my relationship status but make sure that my mom can't see it (my relationship status). Can anyone help?

Go to Settings -> Privacy Settings -> Profile -> click on the Basic Info dropdown menu -> Choose Customize
On the "Except These People" put ur mom name there

To make sure you wont screw it up, have a test first
Create 2 facebook account and set the privacy settings then do as above then see how it works
