What does it mean when I get message notification but there is no message?
When I signed onto my facebook, I get red notification saying I got new message, but when I clicked on it, I don't see any new messages. It never happened to me before. What's going on?
it only happened twice so far just now and didn't happen since then.

Its most likely a Facebook bug, one of the many many bugs on FB. I believe the server didn't recognize that the message(s) has been read and still persists with the old unread cookie. Just my guess, most probably a bug.
