Facebook or zabasearch or a phone book if he is alive.

If he died more than a month or two ago, he is probably on
http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi

But, maybe not. Being there means someone is dead 99.9999% of the time. (With nearly 100 million records, I suspect there is at least one mistake.)

Not being there doesn't mean someone is alive, though.

Since you can't check the census records because the last ones were from 1930, the only place you could look for him is to see if he has passed is on familysearch.org in the ss records. If you have not met him and want to then I suggest you find a researcher or maybe if you know his name and date of birth why not approach a private investigator and ask them to help you find him.

All New York birth and death records can be searched from this one website, plus it has a link for the Social Security Death Index: http://www.birthdatabase.net/newyork/birth-records.htm

Assuming he is living and you know his name; find people on social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace. If that fails try:
http://find.person.superpages.com/
http://www.anywho.com/
http://www.123people.com/
http://www.zabasearch.com/

Some of the same resources and groups that help reunite adopted individuals with their families are also helpful in locating long lost relatives that were not adopted; the following is the link for Cyndi’s List, Adoption resources page: http://www.cyndislist.com/adoption

You can check birth and death registers if you know his full name and place of birth to confirm whether he has passed away or not and once you know that, you could search through an ancestry website? Also, if you know his actual date of birth and place of birth, maybe check school registers or bon facebook or other social sites like that? Hope this helps you Smile
