How do I get more followers on instagram?

I just started and I dont know how to find people I know lol.

I have 123 followers, Yesterday I had like 75 but I grew alot from this handy trick:
I know everyone says this, but these tips are crucial to instagram growth!!!

1) like every picture on the "popular" page-
refresh the popular page every 60 seconds, and a new set of pics will pop up, be sure to
like these too. Trust me, this REALLY WORKS.

2) follow your followers back!!
Everyone will follow you if you follow everyone back.

3) use hashtags.
I know this sounds like a cliche, but this really works. tags help your picture be public
and you get more likes on your pictures. More likes = more followers!!

4) post GOOD PICTURES!!!
Even if you can't take the pictures yourself, you could download an app like photo-
bucket and get great pics from there.

5) Promote yourself.
get on facebook, tumblr, twitter, etc, and promote your instagram.
