In AR, can man be forced to take a DNA test for child support?
My boyfriend's ex girlfriend got pregnant while they were together. She told him she cheated on him, then later on said she never did and that the baby is his. She had her boyfriend sign the birth certificate (which from my understanding, forfeits my boyfriend's rights as the possible father).
Can she go through the state and have my boyfriend forced to take a DNA test to see if she can get child support from him? Ads |

Yes, she can. If she can show reasonable cause that he might be the father (and being pregnant while they were together is ample cause), she can petition to have a DNA test done on both men. Her child has a right to know the correct father.

If she's claiming him to be the father, a DNA test either confirms or dismisses the claim. If he refuses to take it, then he will be presumed to be the father.
Nothing, absolutely nothing forfeits his rights and responsibilities as the father except establishing his paternity and agreeing to adoption. Which it doesn't sound like is an option. |

Yes she can. She can even wait 18 years to file for retroactive child support. Whether she files or not, he needs to file to determine paternity.
