You can only delete questions when they are still open!

Two questions in one. Okay.

You can only delete your open questions. To do so go to the edit options directly underneath your question.

The only way resolved questions or questions in voting get deleted is if the question (or its Best Answer) gets reported and/or a violation. And in some rare instances the Y!A team may delete a question youi asked by request if it contains very personal information. You can send an email with your request and a link to the question to y_answrs_team@yahoo.com .

Other than that all resolved questions remain on the site forever.

To hide your Q&A the first and most important step is to go to My Activities>Edit My Preferences>Privacy & Communications. Under "Sharing and network:" you will see "Share my Q&A with:". Select "My Contacts Only" and click Submit at the bottom of the page.

If you have any Contacts they will be able to see your Q&A, so if you are concerned about privacy I suggest you don't allow them. Go to My Activities>Edit My Preferences>Privacy & Communications under "Sharing and network" again and this time uncheck the box next to "Allow someone from Yahoo! Answers to be my fan". Submit.

Then for more privacy you need to check your Pulse settings .

From Answers go to My Activity>View Pulse>Settings>Manage updates. Make sure "Share my updates" is not checked. Save at the bottom of the page.

You can also manage whether you want Twitter or Facebook linked to your Yahoo! account by going to Settings>Manage my linked accounts.
