HOW DO YOU USE FACEBOOK?

I have signed up for facebook, have a password and all that stuff. When I enter my screen goes directly to a relatives facebook. I tried writing but nothing showed up on anyones wall. I have friends and am able to access them. This is all very strange to me. I guess I need a very detailed course in Facebook 101. Please help me to understand this.

Facebook is a free site and will never require that you pay to continue using the site.
