Why would my ex-boyfriend send me a message on facebook?

I broke up with my bf a month ago and I told him that I didn't want to talk to him anymore. Then today I sign onto facebook and I see that he sent me a message. It just said sup. Why did he send me a message?

He wants to talk to you but he doesn't want to bring all the past sht up. He still wants to talk to you - maybe he misses you - but he's going about it in a roundabout way.

Just reply something "nothing much, just doing homework" or something. You'll probably get no more than 1 or 2 replies after that.
