What can I say to someone I don't know who's mother died?

My bestfriends friend's mother died of cancer just a couple of hours ago. I want to write on her facebook wall and say something. but something special . I've never met this girl but I've always heard so much about her from my friends and I was even supposed to meet her yesterday before her mother passed away. Any ideas in what to write?
