Is there a difference between Puerto Rican spanish and other spanish dialects?

Okay so, a few of my really close guy friends and my boyfriends family are from Puerto Rico and moved to America around four years ago. Sometimes on facebook (yeah, i creep) I really want to know what they're saying when they talk to eachother in Spanish. The way it's translated on google translate makes absolutely no sense and tells me someof the things they are saying aren't words? Huh? Is there a difference between Puerto Rican spanish and the general spanish language?

different countries different accents and sometimes things are named different too. but in general spanish is the same.

Are you sure? Puerto Rico belongs to the UNITED STATES! It's not its own country.

General? You mean Spanish spoken in Spain? There's no general unless you're in the military.

Most of what's spoken south of the US border are sometimes words borrowed from English, whereas they already have this word in Spanish via Spain.

Every single country that speaks Spanish has it's own dialect. Even in Spain there are several dialects and people from one area have difficulty understanding some one from another area. There is no such thing as a general Sp.language.

different countries speek different dialects american english isint the same as either new zealand english or brittish. there are different words we may use or some words change meaning and we incorporated lots of english words in our language. also we shorten words like pa in the sense of vamos pa means para .
