How many unique hits do sites need to make good money from advertising?
How many? Im talking thousands of dollars a month..not hundreds. How many unique hits would a site need to be able to attract companies who would like to place ads? This is not google adsense im referring to..im not talking ppc..i mean per mille.

What do you think? Please talk from experience or someone you know about

Because it is well known that less than 2% (typically less than 1%) of all unique visitors ever click an ad link, you would literally need a few million unique hits per day to make any decent money on advertising.

The hits would not only have to be unique, but non machine generated.

Youtube and Facebook did not make any profit for years.
In fact Facebook had to come up with serious business plans recently in order to start making profits.
Twitter is yet to come up with plans on how they will start making profit otherwise they will not be able to raise much capital.

My point is that its not the number of hits that your website gets. There are a lot of other factors that comes in to play. If your business model is based purely on hits then you need to reconsider.
