Is it rude in facebook during chat when people go offline without saying bye?

I was talking to a friend earlier and all of a sudden she went offline. She just ended the conversation and didn't even say goodbye. Was she being rude, was I boring, or is that typical on facebook? How should I end my chats on facebook?

She should say goodbye its the human thing to do she was either being rude or it could be a technical computer or internet problem.

On facebook the chat always gets disconnected so that was probably the problem. She might have also just forgotten she was chatting and closed the window. If YOU don't get disconnected you should say some sort of goodbye just to be polite. But also if you just started a chat to ask the person one question and you haven't been chatting in about 5-10 minutes there's really no need to say anything when you exit the window.

it depends ..um if ur close friends u should wanna talk to each other and respectfully say goodbye and the same goes for if u guys barley know each other but sometimes if it is just an associate i end my convo by not saying anything..lol
