How to make Yahoo Q&A private from personal email contacts?
I have asked some personal questions on Yahoo Answers UK. I am concerned as I have just had to un-tick a box which said "share with yahoo community" or something. I basically do not want anyone on my contacts list to see questions I have asked, I can see an option on "Privacy & Communications" which says "share my Q&A with" ---- and the most private I can select is with "my contacts only".

I obviously do not want anyone on my contacts seeing any questions.

Help??

Contacts on Answers are separate from the contacts on the rest of Yahoo!. The only time your Q&A from Answers are shared within the Yahoo! network outside of Answers is when you have opted to share updates. These updates are set on your Y! Profile page and they appear on Messenger to your contacts there and also to Facebook and Twitter if you have linked the accounts.. http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/updates/

I see you have found the privacy settings on Y!A. http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edi...KIX;_ylv=3 If you set them to "My Contacts Only", and you do not add any contacts on Answers, then nobody will be able to see the Q&A on your profile.

On that same page where you set your privacy is the setting to "Allow someone from Yahoo! Answers to be my fan" (add you as a contact). A user who has added you as a contact is a fan, and can't see your activity and network on your profile if you have set it to "My Contacts Only". But they do have the option to receive an email every time you ask a question, regardless of your privacy settings unless you don't allow fans.

Any time you make a change on your settings don't forget to click Submit at the bottom of the page.
