How do you have like yahoo anwers avaters ?

O see alot of people with like. Cartoon avaters on yahoo i want one this may seem like a dumb qustion but im new

If you want a cartoon avatar first go to http://avatars.yahoo.com/ and create and save your avatar there.

Then on Answers go to My Activity > Edit My Preferences > Update photo or avatar. http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/about From here you can set your avatar or choose a photo from your computer to be on Answers.

An alternate method is from your Y! Profile page. Click on My Activity > View Pulse > Edit (person & pencil icon). (http://profile.yahoo.com/y/edit/ ) Then click on your avatar where it says "change picture", click on the one you want and Save at the bottom of the page..

One thing though, you will have unhide your Y! Profile before you will be able to upload an avatar other than the default exclamation point.

Click on My Activity > View Pulse > Settings (gear icon) > Privacy. http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ Click the button left of "Your profile is currently hidden" to unhide it.

Also there are sometimes delays anywhere from a few minutes to over a day before your avatar will change after you have set it.

Your avatar can be a cartoon or a photo. You can also use your Facebook or Twitter avatar.

STEP 1.
In order for your avatar to appear you must make your Yahoo Profile visible. That is done here:

There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on. The name can be anything you want.

STEP 2.
To create a cartoon avatar first go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and create one.

STEP 3.
Click on the default avatar in Y!A and select "edit my preferences".

Click on "update photo or avatar" and a small window will open.
You can select the cartoon, Facebook, or Twitter avatar or upload your own photo.
After clicking "use selected photo" be sure to click "submit".
The same photo will appear in the Yahoo Profile.

You can also select the photo in the Yahoo Profile instead.

In your case since your profile is private you must first change your profile to public or your avatar won't show. To do that:Click your avatar, click view pulse click settings top line. Under privacy click manage privacy settings uncheck hide my profile Click save. Then.
You could choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar

Cartoon, this way is fast, straight forward and easy. Go below, create your avatar and save. Then, click your current default avatar then click edit my preferences and you will see where to check use avatar.

You could also create a personal avatar below save it to you pc then upload it as a photo.

Click on your current avatar then click edit my preferences to the right of your default avatar click update photo. Follow the prompts to upload it from your pc.
