why do my internet explorer can't access social networking sites such as facebook and twitter except multiply?

my internet explorer is internet explorer 6, the default browser included when we bought the laptop. however, certain sites were not accesible such as yahoomail, yahooanswers, facebook, and twitter. Youtube, yahoo, google, and other sites are accesible. Do this have something to do with my web browser? What should I do?

Internet explorer 6 is so unsafe and difficult to program for, that many sites are now blocking it.
For your own safety, get the latest version, or even better, get Firefox.

Perhaps your router settings are set in a way in which these websites are blocked? Try contacting the one responsible. Try using other laptops within the same network. Do these websites load? If not, then the problem is probably that the websites are blocked from the router settings. Otherwise, they might be blocked in your entire country, which I find very unlikely.
Another thing you can do is to try getting a different browser like Chrome or Mozilla, and see if the websites work on the new browser. If yes, then something's wrong with the IE settings. Reset them, and try again.
However, if they don't work on the new browser as well, then again check the router settings.

Either check proxy server is install in your system, if available proxy server uninstall it ......
& finally restart the system....

Internet explorer 6 is an outdated browser and doesn't provide all modern features:
see http://ie6no.org/ So many sites block this browser.
You can upgrade it easy to the newest version or download any another modern browser: Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
