Do you feel like technology isolates you or brings you closer to others?

The family unit began to be destroyed when televisions were introduced into everyones homes. Our family would play cards, hide and seek, croquet, yard darts, etc. when we didn't have a t.v. As soon as we got one, we just sat on the couch being told to shut up every time we spoke. It's even worse now, everyone is so isolated in their own little world, either on the phone, the computer, listening to an MP3 player, or Ipod, or vegetating in front of the television as in the days of old.

isolates. Even with emails, facebook etc... people portray themselves a certain way online, the way they want to. And you don't always know the real person without the face to face contact. Sometimes I fantasize about the way families use to work hard together and grow crops, visit relatives, share recipes, have dances potlucks etc... Now we are getting so advanced in all of the jobs and travel we spend more and more time out of the home and I miss the face time. But on the other hand we have so much advancement in the medical field that people aren't dieing and getting sick the way they use to. And with the advancement in travel you can meet so many new people from across the world.
