How to unenable commenting and likes on Facebook?

My cousin is on my friends list. He can and has commented on my statuses and pictures but when he posts stuff I cannot comment or like anything on his profile though I can see were other people have. I asked my sister and she has the same problem when she goes to his page. WE ARE BOTH ON HIS FRIENDS LIST.

How can he choose who can comment or like stuff on his profile? I want to do the same.

The only way I can think of is to block the person(s) that you don't want to see the post.
But this way they won't be your friend on Facebook at all.
