What should I say to my stepmoms previous stepchild?
long story short, me and my stepmom hate each other. i cant find anyway out of this situation (I am only 15 and too young to leave) but i can't take the emotional abuse any longer. family councilling actually made things even worse.

i found her stepdaughter from the previous marriage on facebook (we've never met) and i want to contact her and ask her for advice, but i have no idea what to say with out sounding weird. what should i do? my step mother had the exact same sort of problems with her.

Just introduce yourself and explain why you're contacting her maybe even start by saying how this is kind of weird that way she'll be prepared and see that you aren't some weirdo but I'm sure she'll appreciate having someone to talk to about this (if its as bad as you say) who's been through it too

Well, I can sorta relate to the whole having another sibling and not having met thing. Maybe just keep it simple and say something like "Hello, I'm having a bit of a problem with -bla bla bla bla bla *insert actual text*-" and whatever. But if you can't, just think of a way easy for yourself to do it..

And I'm making no sense once again! Ugh.. Well, good luck. Hope you find the right words and get to talk to 'er.
