Not sure how twitter works?

Ok so if i tweet myself, then those following me will see my tweets on their timeline thing? What if i reply to someones tweet? I want to see my msg show up on their timelime but it doesn't. I also want to be able to see what other people said to the same person, why do i only see the main person's tweets and no responses or anything? Is it a privacy issue? Like i tweet mac miller and don't see my msg show up on his timeline

What shows up on your profile/page: anything YOU have tweeted or retweeted

What shows up on your timeline (the homepage bit): Anything the people you are following have tweeted or retweeted

To see who has tweeted you, you have to click on the little tab on your homepage which says "@mentions" and it comes up with anyone that has mentioned you in a tweet or tweeted you

If you click on "Retweets" you can see if anyone has retweeted what you have tweeted

If someone has replied to a tweet, if you click that tweet it usually comes up in a side screen "reply to....." then the other persons tweet unless that person has made their profile private

To find out what other people have been saying to one person just type in their name in the search box or put @ with their username and it'll come up with all the tweets to them or about them.
