How do you disown your own child?
My biological father left me with my mom when I was two years old. I haven't seen him since and now I am almost 15. My mom has told me that he has signed papers with the court or something like that to make it so he doesn't have to pay for things like child support and stuff like that. I just want to get more info on this and I am wondering if it is legal for me to be in any contact with him. ( I found his facebook and would really like to message him. ) Please help if you know anything about this subject.

It is best to ask a lawyer about this. I hope there someone out door who can give legal advice to help you get started.

I'm sorry you had to go through all this.If I were you,I wouldn't make an effort to search him or try to stay in touch with him.A man who deserted me and my mother and made sure had to contact whatsoever, doesn't deserve a place in my life.He doesn't deserve even a minute of your life.get yourself surrounded by people who love you and support you.

If he is your LEGAL BIOLOGICAL FATHER there is no way he can get out of paying child support for you until your 18th birthday. There is NOTHING he can sign that would say he is not financially responsible. But YOUR MOTHER could file papers saying she does not want his support.
It is 100% legal for you to contact your dad.

He is YOUR father so you should contact him if you want to. Many times Moms try to protect their kids from an abusive father. But just as many times they make up lies to tell their kids about their father so the kid will no longer be interested in knowing about their dad. You don't know what the REAL story is-because you have only heard your mother's side of it. I think you should go ahead and message him. Maybe he won't want contcact with you,but my guess is he will and may have been searching for you all this time. Many mothers do/say evil things about the biological father and none of them are true. The only way you will know for sure is to contact your dad and hear his side of the story. Take it slow. This can be a stressful experience for father and child. If he says he wants no contact you will have to respect that. Remember he probably has a wife and kids that don't know you exist. Good luck

Aww why would he do that. I know how you trying to contact him afterall he's your father and nothing can ever change that but if he wants no contact with you don't go around trying to contact him it would only cause psychological distress. As per the question you should ask a lawyer though personally I don't think it's possible. It's his responsibility, the court knows, it's the law and that's it. Good luck dear!
