After breaking up with your girlfriend should you try to delete evidence of your relationship on facebook?

I have been with this girl for almost a year but feel it may be time to go our separate ways in a sense. But for that year we have been sending little love notes and all of our defaults and most of our albums are of each other. How do I make the break-up official via facebook? Should I get rid of some of the really gaga stuff or get rid of it all or even just keep it hoping that my next girlfriend wont mind? I wouldn't mind a guy and girl's opinion.

No. Obviously your status will change but don't try to erase the past. It is a part of your journey and always will be.

I'd say get rid of all pics of her. If you meet a new girl, she's gonna be like "why do you still have pics of your ex on your facebook?"

if it's over it's over...maybe keep 1 or 2 as a memory but if looking at all that stuff bugs you maybe you should remove a fair bit of it. no need to be depressed when you look at your own facebook page.

Are you still friends? That can change things. But get rid of the public "gaga stuff" because that could show that you aren't over her. If you two are still friends, go ahead and keep some of the stuff with you two. You may find you want to delete it over time. If you two aren't friends, delete it all.

I wouldn't erase the stuff - it seems childish and can be really hurtful. Just because you two aren't 'meant to be' doesn't mean that she didn't play an important role in some part of your life, and you two should stay friends! You could change your default to a pic of just you, or you and friends, but I wouldn't delete everything relating to her in your profiles.
