Are incoming texts free on unlimited text plans?

I got a iPhone a few days ago on Optus, and it has unlimited text ect..
If i sign up to get facebook notifications or twitter and such, does that cost or is it still free?

if its a text then its free since u have unlimited, but if ur using it on the internet then u have to pay for the data used, or u can just get unlimited internet

incoming texts are also included on unlimited texting plans, at least in the U.S.
