How to hide recent activity on Facebook?

I just got facebook and I commented on a ton of my friend's pics just now and on recent activity
all of it came up. How can i stop others being bombarded with all these notifications about me liking and commenting other people's pictures?

To disable publishing of activities Account> Privacy Settings > Friends Tags and Connections > Activity>Select Only Me from the drop down list next to Activities or you can

select custom edit where you can specify which friend cannot view your activities under Hide This From or you can specify which friends can see your activities by typing the name of your friends in the text box under the Make Visible To.
