How do I find out who sent me a message on facebook from a fake profile?
I have had two hurtful messages sent to me from two different fake facebook accounts. I think it may be my boyfriend's ex but am not sure and would like proof. Is there any way to find out who sent this? If not, then is there any way to find our if the two messages came from the same person/source?

I'm afraid not if the emails used also are fake. However you could try to compare the messages to some of your suspects wall posts. I once did something similar and found out who wrote the message by comparing things like the number of symbols used (... , !!! ?! etc) and the use of capital letters (i instead of I).
It depends on how long the messages are but I'd give it a try if it is so important. If she's guilty you can always tell her later that you tracked her mail and found her IP stating that she created the profiles. You just have to sound convincing. Ads |

You have no way to find this out due to both Facebook's privacy policy as well as privacy laws in the US and EU.
If you are being sent hurtful messages, report the person's profile to Facebook to get it removed. If there is anything you feel is harassing or threatening, print out the messages, bring them to your police station, and file a report. If they feel this is either threats or harassment then they would be able to get a court order to subpoena Facebook to find the identity or location of the person emailing you. |

No it is not. Why does it matter at all? You don't like the person so why would you care. report the accounts and get over it.

If you can trace by email, that may work. Short of a court order, no.
