I want to share with you my experience when I am just a newbie in Twitter...

First, you need to follow people that are interesting or people with the same interests as you.

If they follow back, then good and if they don't for a week, then better unfollow them.

Tweet regularly so that your followers won't get bored with you and delete you from their Twitter account.

Post interesting tweets and that your audience would love and be friendly

Retweet, or hit favorite if you like the post. By doing that, they'll do the favor back to you
