Why do pregnant women post their sonogram photos on Facebook?

I really don't understand why a pregnant woman feels the need to post her ultrasound photos or pictures of her belly on Facebook. I've always thought this is a private matter that only needs to be shared with your husband, family, and closest friends. Seeing as how most people have hundreds of "friends" on Facebook that they barely ever speak to, why post such a personal thing?

Because its a super exciting time and you just want to share it with everyone. Pregnancy is BEAUTIFUL. I shared mine on FB. I was so proud of my baby belly and ultrasound photos. I was just so excited and wanted to share it with the world.

Pregnant women actually feel quite opposite. They want to tell and show everyone their little baby because they are excited! It's not really all that private. Women get excited to get big because then people know. It's cute and it's a wonderful and special time in every women's life so if course they are going to want to share it with everyone!

Each person is different. Pregnant women are very excited about the baby they are growing and a lot of people are excited to see the progress. I love it when my friends post pictures of their belly, especially when we do not live in the same city and I don't get to see them much through their pregnancy. There are plenty of things people put on facebook that nobody cares about, but it is their facebook page and they are under no obligation to sensor it for other people. I don't care to know that you've decided to lounge on the couch for the day and eat Doritos, yet people still post it in their status updates. I would much rather see someone's beautiful belly than someone complain about how they are having yet another horrible day for the 7th time this week. It's a belly and a baby, there isn't much that should be private about it.

My Facebook is used for friends and family only. I post my ultrasound pics cuz its a exciting experience to share. My son became my family as soon as we knew. That's like saying why do you post pics of ur children on Facebook
