im really social anywhere else but when im with family, like long distance ones im really shy. and i have nothing to say, i dont want there people to have a wrong impression of me, does this mean i have 2 different personalities? i dont enjoy spending time my these familys because they are older. . . what should i do?

cus you can only talk to old people about old stuff. they don't understand new things. and if you try to talk to them about the internet and stuff they just don't know what the f you're talking about and you have to explain every fing little detail about what you're doing to them.

That's normal actually, because I'm the same way around relatives that I'm not around normally, like long distance relatives.

I think the reason behind it is because you want your family to accept you and so you have a hard time finding what to say. When I visited my family in Lebanon, I was there for a month, and I didn't start getting comfortable around them until about 2 weeks into the trip.

Just make sure to be kind and respectful of your older relatives. It's ok if you're shy at first, it takes a bit of getting used to people to be our total normal selves around them. And after the family reunion is over, try talking to them through email/facebook/webcam and call them every now and then, that way you get to know them better and they get to know you better, so the next time you visit, you'll be excited to see them.

Hope this helps. Smile

Most kids feel the same way, don't worry.

It's uncomfortable because of the age difference.

Sometimes kids feel like adults can see right through them and that can be disconcerting.
