Why don't I get Facebook notifications on my Android anymore?

Ever since the last two or three Facebook app updates, I never get notifications on my phone for friend requests, event invites and messages. I have all of these selected in the settings.

Tap the “Facebook” app icon to launch Facebook.

Tap the “Facebook” logo on the top right of the screen to go to the main Facebook page.

Press the “Menu” button on your Android device, then tap “Settings.”

Check the box next to “Notifications” so that the notifications are listed as “Active.”

Check the boxes under “Notification Settings.” Select to receive Facebook alerts for received messages, friend requests and event invites.

Press the “Back” button to save the settings.
