Am I the only one who hates facebook?

I just don't get the point, the purpose, why people are attracted to it. I hate doing things just because other people are doing them. I am considering closing my account (if that is possible). Can anyone explain it to me? Saying it is a "Social Networking site" just doesn't cut it for me.

Some people like to be on it for the applications, games, etc. Some people like to be nosy and stalk people/ read statuses etc. Personally I think Facebook is a waste of time, but i still go on it because i'm bored and want to talk to someone. Maybe you have a distant relative from the other side of the world, and the only way to talk to them is through Facebook. There are many other reasons that i can't really think of right now

yes, it's possible. go to account settings and click on deactivate account.

I have it because it makes it easier for me to keep in contact with people. My friends and family live in different states. I have myspace and FB, but most of my friends/family has FB. and it's free. lol.
