Why would a new boyfriend decline your request for friendship on Facebook?

My friend has a new romance with someone she spent time with for two weeks and then his job transferred him to Alabama (from California). He will be there until December 2010. He sends her presents and romantic cards tells her he loves her by text and on the phone. She has caught him in some lies, but can't figure out why he would lie about how many children he has (two) and also why he refuses to say yes to her being her facebook friend. Please help with truthful opinion and no sarcasm. Thank you.

sorry to say but he probably has a totally seperate life out there and maybe still married or something like that. either way he doesnt want someone to find out he is with your friend or he doesnt want your friend to find out he is with someone else.

He's hiding something. Maybe on fb you could see the realtionship status which could be that hes married or something else. Since she does not see this guy she can't trust him he's in a different location and believe or not he could do anything he wants. I believe he is lieing to her. I would not trust this guy since he already lied anyway.

thats just a weird guy to be lying and not adding on fb...but to say the truth idk what he could be thinking but if it gets to a point where he just isn't that good its not good for the relationship in many ways cuz she's gonna get hurt and those are the worst times to see a friend in...hope everything goes well....
