Do you think we live in an unkind world?
Of course this doesn't apply to everybody but think about it, bullying is at an all time high, everyone is prejudiced in some way and there is a whole new generation of insensitive people. If you agree why do you think this is?

No I think we live in a kind world with a few unkind people with very loud voices and drown others out.

Well even in the past 40 years have gotten worse and worse. Back then you could pick someone up on the side of the road and not have to worry about a gun or knife. Now a days you can't, bullying has become worse at schools, and people are too quick to start a fights now adays

I'm in NYC almost everyday, people are out to get what they want and need. It's less about cruelty and more about making something of yourself. Prejudice and Racism are on a different spectrum though and both of those things just come from straight cruelty and hate. I think that people are just being generally rude just has to do with how cut throat everything is today. But Most decent people end up being unkind because they have to do what's necessary for them first. People can get greedy and that's when things turn to "unkind" rather than "I have to compete with you to feed my family." & Bullying is just part of playing hardball and jockeying for better social status. The world we live in is unkind.

People are very self-centered and very driven to gain access to the upper tiers of socioeconomic status these days. also Families are raising kids to believe that they are entitled to things other people aren't. Everyone thinks their kid is "special". Everyone needs instant gratification. Everyone has to have the best house, go to the best school, eat the best food, and talk on the best cell phone.

It's everyone in a constant race to be better than everyone else.

Yes well I'm not sure about kind or unkind, thats more an individual question as in some people are kind and some are not

What tyler is talking about is a matter of safety and that is a collective question and my answer to that would also be yes as in it only takes one person to act upon something whether it be good or bad but we come together as a whole to punish that person ie public ridicule.

The generation we are in now is unfortunate because we can hurt the world and its mother at the touch of a button! you mentioned bullying, kids as young as ten can bully each other by hate texting, they're not even in the same school yard but in the confines of there home.

We see innocent people turned into criminals within an hour thanks to social networking such as facebook.

So yes, when you really think about it, it is really unkind and unsafe and it is set to get worse!

good question.

Yes. I think this because I don't often meet genuine and kind people. Although I do think that it does depend on the country. I lived in England for 18 years (born and raised) and NEVER met a genuinely nice person. Since moving to various other places in Europe I have met some nice people, but a lot of the time people are only nice when it's in their best interest or when they want something. I also think it's an unkind world because of all the abuse, rape and murder.
