Why does my Blackberry run out of battery quickly?
I have a Blackberry curve and the battery is half way gone after a couple hours of being off the charge. I do not use Bluetooth, and am signed into Twitter and Facebook, but both settings prevent background running. I have barely used my phone and yet the battery runs down very quickly.
Is there a problem with the battery or is there a setting I need to change on the phone? Ads |

"am signed into Twitter and Facebook" - which means you're using the 3g or 4g or whatever you have, which uses a lot of battery life. You might be charging it too much. Electronics are supposed to be ran down to almost dying before they get recharged, like with my laptop, I keep it plugged in 24/7 now it won't last 30 minutes. Batteries develop a memory to the charge and need to be drained then fully recharged for optimum efficiency.

Most likely something wrong with your battery, mine started doing that but only after 2 years of usage.

The batteries on smart phones are pretty bad but I found the blackberry curve 9360 terrible.expect to charge your phone at least twice a day.the curve 8520 I've got now is better but i think they are just that bad for battery power.

Do you have other background apps running? If you hold down on the blackberry menu button for a few seconds it will show you all the apps currently running. You might have thing going that you didnt know about.
You can also check your backlight brightness and Backlight timeout settings both are in the options menu. Twitter and facebook and any other always connected app will always be checking the internet for updates and will def add to battery drain. You could try logging out of one or both apps to see if it helps... |
