Can I press charges on someone for slandering me on Facebook?
Long story short my fiances ex-wife is slandering us on Facebook. Making ridiculous comments such as child-bride, and yes there is and age difference which she does express very clearly and fully starts are names. She says I am his mistress when she divorced him and had a new boyfriends MONTHS before we got together. Anyways I want to know if I can press charges or sue her?

you slander is a civil charge, even though its in the penal law.
you need to prove damages...meaning, how have you become financially at a loss of money for the slander...did you lose your job because of the comments, then you need to prove the comments that were said are not true.....
if someone posts that you do cocaine everyday and hit your kids for no reason, you lose your job becasue of it....then you need to prove that those comments are false and they were made maliciously

Depending on where you live, you could press harassment charges placed against her. You also can get a cease and desist order to have her remove this.

Get a lawyer to assist you with a restraining order/cease and dismiss order and then sue the crap out of her for slander if you can. I would be more worried about what lies ahead. She is obviously a bitter woman who needs to stop now or she will keep it up until she ruins your marriage.

Google Betty Broderick, a middle age woman whose husband dumped her for a younger woman. She murdered both of them and almost walked. These people don't get better, they get more bitter. I hope your future husband is supportive of you and willing to assist you in all of the above. If he is not, I would re-evaluate the relationship.

Slander and libel laws are very tough to prove.

It appears you are upset at the fact what she is saying could be true. You so called adults complaining about what someone is saying about you on damn face book. Grow the hell up kid.

if you block her she won't be able to write anything on your wall or comment on any of your posts.delete her as a friend (if she is your friend) Or report her and you'll see a few options on wat to report her for (but i'll let you decide which one you want to go for) however it is very hard to prove anything and be care full because she sounds a bit nasty and she might take revenge!!! if this is really bothering you try and talk to her (but that might be hard!)
i've gone through this sort of thing and i know how you must be feeling so i really hope this helps!
