Just spread your twitter account to any of your accounts on different websites like Youtube, Facebook etc
Or spread it to any community or forum you know. That will make it easy.

twitter can really generate traffic.i managed to achieve 2214 followers in a few days from http://tiny.cc/WY4vI

I can usually manage to get a few 100 followers a day using a program called hummingbird. I found the program when I was searching youtube one day, I'll leave the link to the video in the source.
