How do i send a direct message in twitter?

I want to send a direct message to a person who is not following me. Is that possible? If not how can I send them a message and be sure they will see it? Anyone? Help please

Log into your Twitter Account.

Click on the Direct Messages Button right below @YOUR USER NAME in the sidebar.

Up at the top there is a drop down box that allows you to select the person you want to send a direct message to, and then you can type your message in the box below it. Hit send and you're good.

The only way to send a direct message on Twitter is to put an @ next to their twitter name and send the message. For instance if the person's Twitter name is "Bearsinc", at the beginning of your message put @Bearsinc then type your message. They can read the message if they check Twitter. I've sent messages to people who do not follow me and they all responded back, so it should work for you. It just depends on if the person checks all of the Twitter messages.
