Can an insulin dependant mother breastfeed?
I always assumed they could but just saw something in my Facebook feed with someone asking about it. So now I am curious. Yes, no?

Yes. I am insulin dependent and breast fed my daughter for 2 years and 3 months before she weaned herself.

Absolutely. And it may help keep sugar levels more stable while you're breastfeeding. It may help to contact La Leche League or an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant before the baby is born.
